Architectural Innovation with Jeff Raymond, TME ManagerJeff Raymond joins us on set

This section takes a look at the switching fabric for the Nexus 7000 platform. The Switch fabric is one of the jewels of the platform as it is the key to providing the fundamental architecture for carrying both ethernet/IP and storage traffic. Mechanisms such as Virtual Output queueing and fabric arbitration set the foundation for this piece of the platform. Additionally, the fabric architecture has been built with massive scalability in mind - with an architecture capable of delivering 230Gbps/slot day one, you can see how the system has been built with a path for handling future 40G and 100G standards.
