Special Guest, Carl SolderCarl has been in the I.T. industry for 24 years and currently serves as a Distinguished Technical Marketing Engineer (DTME) with the Campus Switching Systems Technology Group (CSSTG).
Carl has been with Cisco nearly 13 years of which the last 6 years has been with the CSSTG as a TME working predominantly on the Catalyst 6500 platform. Prior to this he worked as a Consulting Systems Engineer with the Asia Pac Core Technology Group in Singapore providing technical marketing support for the Catalyst switching product line for all countries in the Asia Pac region. His initial tenure in Cisco was working as a field Systems Engineer in Australia focusing on Routers Switches, Security and Voice.
Prior to working with Cisco, Carl worked at IBM for 11 years. During this time he worked in a number of areas including applications and systems programming, systems engineering and consulting primarily in the area of Mainframe, LAN communications and storage subsystems..
Carl has a Bachelors degree with a double major in Programming and Systems Analysis from Curtin University in Western Australia. In 1999 Carl was awarded the inaugural "Top SE" for the entire Asia Pac theater. He also completed his CCIE certification within a year of joining Cisco and is currently an active member of the 10 year CCIE club.
