What is TechWiseTV?
TechWiseTV is a Cisco 'show' designed to drive both awareness and knowledge of various technical topics. Most topics will relate to Cisco products but that is not always the case. The show should always be a healthy balance of 'infotainment' - education, awareness and knowledge wrapped in what is hopefully an entertaining package. We are almost 100% devoid of any powerpoint unless there is a drawing we just must have...our favorite presentation tool is the whiteboard...(a tablet PC that Jimmy Ray hogs most of the time... in fact, handwriting can be a challenge on these things for JR... you have to listen to what he says when he writes...who knew a Southern Accent could show up in someones handwriting?
Who is the target audience for TechWiseTV?
If you watch a show and don't like it then you are NOT our target audience. Just kidding. You still might be. We strive to provide value for what we call Technical Decision Makers. Most shows
What is the purpose of this wiki?
This wiki is designed as an interactive communication vehicle between the geeks who are working on content for the show and technical customers who are interested in making it better and/or simply remaining aware of what is going on.
Do the people who make TechWiseTV all work for Cisco?
For the most part, yes. Jimmy Ray and Robb are both Cisco employees. Jonas Tichenor and Valerie St. John are professonal TV hosts that help make us all look good.
Does Cisco fully endorse all the content on this site?
No. This is a community site that is open to anyone of course...but the target audience is primarily viewers of Cisco's TechWiseTV. Although this site is moderated, content can be submited and revised by community members.
How do we pick topics?
Why does Jimmy Ray live in Wisconsin and have a Southern accent...while Robb lives in Texas and sounds like a Midwesterner?
