The Bio Page...

Most of the Bio's that are out there today are actually wrote by the same folks they are about. It is a chance to brag about the journey we have taken and certifications we have conquered along the way. I wanted to write this bio in the true sense of the word Biography. Bio= Life and graphy (graphos) = write.
My life story is alot more then a whole mess of letters and acronyms. Those do not really define my honest to goodness passion for networking. I even dream in hexidecimal, which was a recent upgrade from octal... man, I LOVE this stuff.
From the first time I tapped a coax cable with a vampire until now, I am hooked on passing data. I am so grateful to work in a field that I truly love even after 18 years. I would do this job for minimum wage, although I am grateful I am not. I still wake up and can not wait to get started (after a couple bowls of Coco Puffs...)
My REAL life story begins and ends at the same place. I am a Christian with a deep and absolute love of the Lord Jesus Christ. In all things, I always look to glorify his name. I start and end my day thinking of how great it is to walk with the Lord.
Besides networking... I really get into restoring old pinball and arcade machines.
| Wow! It includes PageMaker!! |

My basement is part the "Code Cave" where I work and play in my lab and the other half is my authentic 80's style arcade with blacklights, painted black ceiling, cheeesy arcade static proof carpeting and 10 awesome restored upright arcade games:
- Tron - Playchoice 10 - Star Wars - Star Wars Racer DX - Area 51
- Max Force - Dark Legacy
- Crystal Castles - MAME - Paperboy
Plus a few Pinball Machines, Slot Machines and a whole bunch other stuff.
I am married to a super great wife that for some reason enjoys my jokes and puts up with my farts for the past 19 years. We have two really great kids that I do not deserve after getting into all the trouble I did as a kid!and a mangie old dog that only listens to my wife and son... Hmmmm.... maybe that dog knows something I do not...
| Bingo Pins are my favs! This is one from my collection... I donated a lot of lunch money in these as a kid. Just trying to do my part for the economy... |

I really dig astronomy, fishing and I have a fascination with the Golden Number 1.618... If I ain't geekin' in the Code Cave then I can be found outdoors in Wisconsin shooting stars with my Celestron 15" scope on most mosquito-less nights and on Lake Michigan not catching Bass on mosquito heavy nights...
I love vegg'en in front of the tube for The NFL, The Amazing Race, Man vs Wild, How it's Made, Man Moment Machine (shout out to Rick!) and Johnny Bravo Cartoons. Plus I am a major league video game junkie! FPS games are my favs. I am waiting for Oblivion V and of course KOTR III...
As far as TechWiseTV goes, you have met one the luckiest and most grateful people in the world...Me. The whole TechWiseTV crew is really great to work with. Robb and I clicked from the start. Robb is a true visionary and all that you see on the show is dreamed up by Robb Boyd. I just add the geek favor. Robb and I both always want to produce content that is technically valuable to our viewers without the marketing spin of death.
To really sum all of this up as far as a Bio Graphy goes... my life's write is summed up in one word: Servant. As a networking professional I serve my users by ensuring that they have safe, reliable access to their data. As an astronomer I serve my neighbors by showing them the wonder and brilliance of the universe and science. As fisherman I serve the fish but not knowing how to catch them and my family by not smelling like I did. As an engineer I serve my customers with the best network design regardless of any vendor loyalty or spiff. As a TechWiseTV team member I hopefully serve you by providing timely and useful content with a touch of fun.
Jimmy Ray Purser
