"noob" term
Feb 20 2008, 2:00 PM EST
typically noob or n00b is used in a derogatory sense. As in to call someone a complete idiot because they know nothing, as if they were new. "Newbie," however, is generally seen as a polite term for someone who is new to something. Though this isn't always the case, it's still more polite than noob or n00b. As per the idea of "TechWiseTV Bootcamp," you could probably do something that would emphasize the word "boot" in "bootcamp." Like "TechWiseTV BootCamp" or "TechWiseTV Boot-camp" or some such.

Siyamak is right; usage of noob, n00b conjures up images of adolescents in the midst of a 37 hour WoW marathon and harrassing newcomers for sport. But TechWiseTV Bootcamp has a nice ring to it. It's either for folks starting out, or for folks who need a refresher (but are afraid to ask). We should seriously consider these. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
